When both the main wife and Madam Lin failed to manage the housework well, Grandma Sheng gave Minglan a chance to take charge of the family's daily affairs for a period of time. It was Minglan's first experience as a house manager, and it was also a test for her.

At the beginning, the servants did not respect her. They thought she was too young and from a low status, so they worked lazily and even tried to play tricks on her. Minglan did not lose her temper. She first checked all the account books carefully, then made clear rules for everyone, and rewarded or punished people fairly. In a short time, she got everything in order.

This experience let everyone see Minglan's true ability. It also gave her more confidence. She learned that as long as she was fair and calm, she could manage even the most messy things well.
