Grandma Sheng is the oldest and most respected person in the Sheng family. She is also the most important person in Minglan's life.

She is a wise, kind and strong-minded woman. She has seen a lot of things in her life, so she understands people and the world very well. When Minglan lost her mother and had no one to depend on, Grandma Sheng took her in and raised her carefully. She taught Minglan to read, to manage housework, and to protect herself. She is not only Minglan's grandma, but also her teacher and her strongest backup.

Without Grandma Sheng, Minglan would have had a much harder life. She is like a warm light that guides Minglan through all hard times.
